After a long wait, we have finally started the production of our eagerly anticipated divider. The plan is to make them available for purchase later this summer. Those who have been with us at the time of the first version, know that we’ve gone through growing pains with it. The looks and functionality were there, but higher volume production was difficult to achieve. As a result, we had to temporarily stop the sales, in order to improve the manufacturability. We are quite confident that the second version will hit the market running.
Key Takeaways:
- Prior to their type 2 divider Crucible created a beautiful version of the instrument that was difficult to manufacture in sizeable amounts and was hand-sized and polished.
- The type 2 owes a lot of its updating to mechanical designer Josh Cook and machinist Craig Jackson.
- The newer version is equally beautiful and more functional than ever, besides being much easier to make and significantly less expensive.
“The Crucible Type 2 dividers are new from the ground up. I can promise you that they have the same feel in the hand – like a heavy and smooth stone you found on a riverbank.”
